The Darling Downs Model Railway Club Inc. is located in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. we are one of the largest Queensland clubs outside of the National Body NMRA.
Obviously you have an interest in Model Trains, great! so do we, and it is our intention to make your visit to the DDMRC Inc. website an interesting and informative one.
DDMRC Inc. members come from all walks of life, vary from 8 year olds to adults of both sexes, including family groups, and hail from distant localities such as Brisbane, Roma, Dalby etc. we even have members interstate as well as overseas and of course a strong contingent from Toowoomba itself. The abilities of these folk as modellers vary from the "haven't got a clue" to the "been there, done that" brigade. The level of individual interest in the hobby varies from reading about it to total hands on involvement. As you can see then, you don't have to be an expert in anything to be a member of this club - just an interest in model railways (or railroads if you prefer) is all that is necessary.
Our club has one basic aim, that is, to promote this hobby, you will find many articles, photos and items of interest on the site, as well as links to valuable modelling resources, and if we don't cover something you would like to know about, please feel free to ask us in the CONTACT US area of the Main Menu.
Most importantly, if you are in the Toowoomba area, either live here, or visiting, why not come along to the clubhouse and see the extensive layouts in Z, N and HO scales.
We are at the clubhouse, Old Maudsley House, Baillie Henderson Hospital, every Wednesday Night from 7:30pm
On Saturday afternoons, you will find us in the Model Railway Museum & Display Centre, Toowoomba Showgrounds from 2pm.
